Athena Through Book XXI
Alas, Odysseus is about to take his revenge! After all of this long wait he has tested all of the suitors and he is ready to grab his heavy bow and kill the suitors. the cunning plan he and I hatched is reaching its conclusion and he will soon be reunited with Penelope and reclaim his glory as the king of Ithaca. For 20 years I have watched him and wished for him to go home to his beautiful wife and his ever-maturing son. I am teeming with excitement while watching over him! He has just strung his bow, amazing all of the suitors, and Zeus lashed down a thunderclap while he did. In mere minutes Odysseus will kill Antinuos first and then all of the other suitors who plague his household. For long enough his wife has lived in sorrow, and it is time for husband and wife to reunite gloriously. I am so excited for Odysseus! After my refusal to let him expedite the process, my plan has finally run its course and the suitors will be dead! Rejoice!
